Roaches Love Your House in the Winter

During Florida winters, pests have a way of finding entry points that are invisible to people... foundation cracks, gaps around pipes or cracks under doors. 😫 The most common winter pest to make its way inside your home is the cockroach, YUCK!

With even a slight chill in the Florida air, cockroaches are drawn to the warmth provided by your home.  They like humid areas and look for places with access to water, like near your kitchen sink, dishwasher or bathroom.  Make sure to look for the access points discussed above and try to secure any gaps that would allow pests to enter your home.

On the outside of your home, create a separation between your foundation and any mulch or damp soil.  It's also helpful to move your garbage bins slightly away from the side of your house.

Now don't be alarmed, but if you see one cockroach inside your home, chances are there are many more.  You will not be able to keep up killing them off one-by-one and you will likely end up with an infestation.  If you see a roach inside your home, give us a call and we will make sure that an infestation will not get out of control.  Our regular pest control service includes guaranteeing the prevention of cockroaches in addition to other pests.  Questions?  Give us a call at 772-913-3712.
